(MILLFIELD LANE, CADDINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from
the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Millfield Lane, Caddington 20M North of The Jays.
This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway reconstruction work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 21 January 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Millfield Lane, Caddington Commons, B4540, Mancroft Rd, Dunstable Rd.
The Order will come into operation on 19 January 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HARLINGTON ROAD, TODDINGTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Harlington Road, Toddington between Border of farm to metal gated entrance of farm dirt track.
This temporary closure is required to enable Reconstruct Footpath and repairs to embankment work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 12 January to 20 March 2026 between the hours of 8am and 5pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B530, B579, B5120 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 12 January 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INSTALL A TOUCAN CROSSING ON SUNDON ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, proposes to establish a Signalised Toucan Crossing on Sundon Road, Houghton Regis. This proposal is part of a scheme specified in the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan to provide improved facilities for the benefit of pedestrians and cyclists.
A Toucan Crossing is proposed to be sited at the following location in Houghton Regis:
1. Sundon Road, centered at a point approximately 21 metres south west of the centre of the junction with Silver Birch Avenue.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON LINCOLN WAY, HARLINGTON
Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and for facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians). More specifically, the waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking. Effect of the Order:
To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following length of road in Harlington:-
1. Lincoln Way, south side, from the end of the layby starting outside No.2 Lincoln Way, (where the current waiting restrictions end), and extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 41 metres.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING FROGMORE ROAD, ARLESEY WAITING RESTRICTIONS
On 16th December 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-
To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following lengths of road in Houghton Regis:-
1. Frogmore Road, northern spur, located in the parking bay north of No.23 to No.31 Frogmore Road, Disabled Parking Bay to be positioned from the east corner, extending 3.6 metres west, and 5 metres south.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 16th December 2025, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
