HYSBYSIR drwy hyn fod Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Torfaen, trwy ymarfer ei bwerau o dan Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y diwygiwyd), yn bwriadu gwneud Gorchymyn heb fod yn Mai na saith niwrnod o ddyddiad yr Hysbysiad hwn a fyddai'n atal cerddwyr a beicwyr rhag teithio ar hyd rhan o Lwybr Cyhoeddus Rhif 286 am tua 185m o hyd, ar Iwybr tynnu Camlas Mynwy ac Aberhonddu ym Mhontnewydd. Mae'r llwybr troed dan sylw yn rhedeg ar hyd llwybr tynnu'r gamlas o gyfeiriad y gogledd i'r de, i'r gorllewin o Cwmbran Drive, De Sebastopol. Dangosir y rhan o'r llwybr yr effeithir ami, mewn llinell ddu drwchus o A-B ar Fap y Gorchymyn.

Mae llwybrau amgen ar gael, a dangosir y rhain ar Gynllun y Gorchymyn gyda llinellau du toredig wedi'u nodi gyda C-D.

Mae'r gwaharddiad hwn yn ofynnol oherwydd bod gwaith yn cael ei wneud, neu ar fin cael ei wneud, ar y llwybr troed neu gerllaw. Bydd y Gorchymyn arfaethedig yn dod i rym ar 7 lonawr 2026 ac yn parhau am gyfnod o 6 mis neu hyd nes bod y gwaith wedi cael ei gwblhau, pa un bynnag sydd gynharaf.

TORFAEN COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (As Amended) Section 14 - Public Footpath No. 286 Cwmbran. Pontnewydd (Part) Temporary Prohibition Of Pedestrians Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the County Borough Council of Torfaen in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended) intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along an approximately 185 m section of Public Footpath No.286 on the Monmouth and Brecon Canal towpath in Pontnewydd. This footpath runs along the canal towpath in an approximately north-south direction west of Cwmbran Drive, South Sebastopol. The affected section of footpath is shown by a bold black line from A-B on the Order Map.

Alternative routes are available and are shown on the Order Plan by dashed black lines marked C-D. The prohibition is necessary because works are being or proposed to be executed on or near the footpath.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 7th January 2026 and will continue in force for a period of 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
