HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DOG KENNEL LANE AND SOUTH COTTAGE DRIVE, CHORLEYWOOD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:–

1. that length of Dog Kennel Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Berry Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 230m.

An alternative route will be via Berry Lane, Valley Road, The Clump, A404 (Chorleywood Road/Rickmansworth Road) and Dog Kennel Lane.

2. that length of South Cottage Drive, Chorleywood from its junction with Dog Kennel Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are in operation. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN BOREHAMWOOD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):–

1. that length of Summerswood Lane, Borehamwood from its junction with Crossoaks Lane south eastwards to its junction with Holmshill Lane, a distance of approximately 1168m.

An alternative route will be via Crossoaks Lane, Blanche Lane, B556 (Cecil Road/Mutton Lane), Baker Street, Dancers Hill Road, Trotters Bottom, Galley Lane, A411 Barnet Road, Barnet Lane, Furzehill Road, B5378 Shenley Road, A5135 Elstree Way, Rowley Lane and Holmshill Lane or via Holmshill Lane, Rowley Lane, A5135 (Rowley Lane/Elstree Way), B5378 Shenley Road, Furzehill Road, Barnet Lane, A411 Barnet Road, Galley Lane, Trotters Bottom, Dancers Hill Road, Baker Street, B556 (Mutton Lane/Cecil Road), Blanche Lane and Crossoaks Lane.

2. that length of Bucketsland Lane, Borehamwood from its junction with Summerswood Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 135m.

An alternative route will be via Holmshill Lane, Rowley Lane, Well End Road, High Cannons and Bucketsland Lane.

3. that length of Holmshill Lane, Borehamwood from its junction with Summerswood Lane south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Bucketsland Lane, a distance of approximately 728m.

An alternative route will be via Summerswood Lane, Crossoaks Lane, Blanche Lane, B556 (Cecil Road/Mutton Lane), Baker Street, Dancers Hill Road, Trotters Bottom, Galley Lane, A411 Barnet Road, Barnet Lane, Furzehill Road, B5378 Shenley Road, A5135 Elstree Way and Rowley Lane or via Rowley Lane, A5135 (Rowley Lane/Elstree Way), B5378 Shenley Road, Furzehill Road, Barnet Lane, A411 Barnet Road, Galley Lane, Trotters Bottom, Dancers Hill Road, Baker Street, B556 (Mutton Lane/Cecil Road), Blanche Lane, Crossoaks Lane and Summerswood Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:–

1. that length of Buckingham Road, Watford from its junction with Parkgate Road north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Sandringham Road, a distance of approximately 143m.

An alternative route will be via Parkgate Road and Sandringham Road.

2. that length of Buckingham Road, Watford from its junction with Sandringham Road south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of Chenies Way, Watford from its easternmost junction with A4145 Tolpits Lane south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 302m.

An alternative route will be via A4145 Tolpits Lane.

4. that length of Deakins Close, Watford from its junction with Chenies Way south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Latimer Close, Watford from its junction with Chenies Way south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 119m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

6. that length of Chilcot Road, Watford from its junction with Courtlands Drive south eastwards to its junction with Gammons Lane, a distance of approximately 95m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

7. that length of Duke Street, Watford from its junction with Loates Lane north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

8. that length of Halsey Place, Watford from its junction with Gammons Lane north westwards for its entire length.

10. that length of Leggatts Close, Watford from its junction with Leggatts Way south westwards and north eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

11. that length of Liverpool Road, Watford from its junction with Clifton Road south eastwards to its junction with Cardiff Road, a distance of approximately 358m.

An alternative route will be via Clifton Road, St James Road and Cardiff Road.

12. that length of Maude Crescent, Watford from its junction with Gammons Lane north eastwards to its junction with The Harebreaks, a distance of approximately 126m.

An alternative route will be via Gammons Lane, St Georges Road and The Harebreaks.

13. that length of Maude Crescent, Watford from its junction with St Georges Road eastwards and south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

14. that length of Lea Road, Watford from its junction with Maude Crescent north eastwards to its junction with A412 St Albans Road, a distance of approximately 45m.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

15. that length of Maytree Crescent, Watford from its junction with Leggatts Way south westwards, clockwise and north westwards for its entire length.

19. that length of Waterman Close, Watford from its junction with Riverside Road south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

20. that length of Victoria Road, Watford from its junction with Leavesden Road south eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

21. that length of Wilcot Avenue/Talbot Avenue, Watford from its junction with Bucks Avenue north eastwards and clockwise for its entire length.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN HOLYWELL ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Holywell Road, Watford from its junction with A4145 Hagden Lane north eastwards to its junction with Harwoods Road, a distance of approximately 244m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A4145 (Hagden Lane/Vicarage Road) and Harwoods Road

or via Harwoods Road, Brightwell Road and A4145 Hagden Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

1. that length of Derby Road, Watford from its junction with Gladstone Road north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Knutsford Avenue, Watford from its junction with Bushey Mill Lane south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Balmoral Road, a distance of approximately 437m.

An alternative route will be via Bushey Mill Lane, Radlett Road and Balmoral Road.

3. that length of Meadow Road, Watford from its junction with Briar Road north eastwards for its junction with Moss Road, a distance of approximately 470m.

An alternative route will be via Briar Road, Hillingdon Road and Moss Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Watford Borough Public Footpath No.013 from a point 6m south east of a point in line with the eastern boundary of No. 7 Ash Close south eastwards for a distance of approximately 79m (“the Public Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the north east side of Watford Borough Public Footpath No.013.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the A41 eastbound slip road leading from the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout, Watford from its junction with the A405 North Orbital Road/High Road roundabout south westwards to its junction with the eastbound carriageway of A41 North Western Avenue, a distance of approximately 405m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout, A41 North Western Avenue, the A41 Hempstead Road/M25 (junction 19) roundabout and A41 North Western Avenue.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):–

1. the eastbound carriageway of A411 Beechen Grove, Watford from a point 68m south east of its junction with Grosvenor Road south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the A4008 Stephenson Way/A411 Waterfields Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 300m.

An alternative route will be via A411 (Beechen Grove/Exchange Road/Beechen Grove), A412 St Albans Road, A41 (North Western Avenue/North Western Avenue Colne Way) and A4008 Stephenson Way.

2. that length of Longspring, Watford from its junction with A412 St Albans Road south westwards to its junction with Leavesden Road, a distance of approximately 654m.

An alternative route will be via A412 St Albans Road and Leavesden Road or via Leavesden Road, Lowestoft Road and A412 St Albans Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 23 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HERCULES WAY AND THE CYCLE TRACK/FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF AERODROME WAY, LEAVESDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:–

 1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hercules Way, Leavesden from its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Warner Drive roundabout north eastwards to its junction with Curtiss Drive, a distance of approximately 200m (“the Road”).

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this Road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. To prohibit all pedal cyclists/pedestrians from using the cycle track/footpath situated on the east side of Aerodrome Way, Leavesden from its junction with Hercules Way north westwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 200m (“the Cycle Track/Footpath”).

There is no alternative route available for pedal cycles/pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedal cycle/pedestrian access to properties near this Cycle Track/Footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Cycle Track/Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 December 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Cycle Track/Footpath.

An alternative route will be via Berry Lane, Tudor Way and Shepherds Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
