Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road and Footpath Closures due to Infrastructure, Maintenance and Utility Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Blackberry Lane (Part), Winsley; from its junction with B3108 for a distance of approximately 80m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out installation of cabinets for broadband network and associated works. Alternative route via Blackberry Lane (unaffected length) – C237 – B3108 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation at 09:00 on 12 January 2026 and will be required for 3 days. B) C230 (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Wine Street to its junction with Sandy Leaze.

C) Footpath 45 (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Newtown to its junction with Barton Orchard to enable Chevron to carry out urgent home repairs and associated works. Alternative route B via C230 (unaffected length) – C391 – B3108 – A363 and vice versa. Alternative route C via Footpath 28, Bradford on Avon – Newtown – Footpath 44, Bradford on Avon and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2026 and will be required until 16 February 2026. For further information please contact Chevron on 0845 123 0111.

D) C219 (Part), Bratton; from its junction with Bury Lane for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via C219 (unaffected length) – C49 – B3098 – C219 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2026 and will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. E) Hatton Way (Part), Corsham; from a point approximately 90m west of its junction with Valley Road for a distance of approximately 46m in a south westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out carriageway defect repair works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2026 and the closure will be required for 2 days. F) Adcroft Drive (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with British Row to its property known as No.01 Adcroft Drive to enable Openreach to carry out clear blockages and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation at 09:00 on 12 January 2026 and will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 2 days. G) Bowerhill Lane, Melksham Without; from its junction with A365 for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out resurfacing and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 for 5 days. H) Lower Alma Street (Part), Trowbridge; from its property known as No.11 Lower Alma Street to its property known as No.01 Lower Alma Street to enable Openreach to carry out ducting and associated works. No alternative route is available.

This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2026 and will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 18:00 for 1 day. For further information please contact Circet on behalf of Openreach on 07714 43995. Orders A) to H) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all traffic:

Phase 1: Leigh Close, Westbury; from its junction with Westbury Leigh Road for its entire length.

Phase 2: School Lane, Westbury; from its junction with Westbury Leigh Road for its entire length to enable Galtec Ltd to carry out a new foul and storm connections and associated works.

No alternative route is available. The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 12 January 2026, and the closure will be required until 05 June 2026. The phases will run consecutively. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all users:

A) Footpath 45 (Part), Bromham; from its junction with Footpath 76, Bromham to its junction with Footpath 8, Rowde.

B) Footpath 82, Bromham; from its junction with Footpath 45, Bromham to its junction with A342.

C) Footpath 83, Bromham; from its junction with Footpath 45, Bromham to its junction with Footpath 45, Bromham to enable National Grid 400 kV overhead power line refurbishment. Alternative route via existing public rights of way and highways.

This Order will come into operation on 15 January 2026, and closure will be required until 15 June 2026.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all users:

D) Footpath 8 (Part), Warminster; from a point approximately 85m of its junction with Footpath 10, Warminster for a distance of approximately 465m in a north easterly direction.

E) Footpath 13 (Part), Warminster; from its junction with Footpath 8, Warminster for a distance of approximately 65m in a northerly direction to enable construction of the new public right of way section/closure required due to close proximity to current phase p2 construction (planning application ref PL/2022/08898), drainage infrastructure will be installed.

No alternative route is available.

This closure which follows an emergency notice, will come into operation on 23 December 2025, and the closure will be required until 28 February 2026.
