What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND COUNCIL AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.15) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The references to quote are detailed in the schedule.

The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated in the schedule only and as when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

  1. C2052 Skinburness Road, Skinburness – From 8 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours

    (Ref: TTRO/C16655)

    From a point adjacent to No. 278 Skinburness Road, Skinburness, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 60m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Skinburness Road, the B5302 and C2052.

  2. B5301 Westnewton – From 12 January 2026 for approx. 1 day between 0930 and 1500 hours

    (Ref: TTRO/C16667)

    From its junction with the C2002, extending in an overall northerly direction for approx. 410m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5301, B5302 and A596.

  3. U2054 Oulton – From 13 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours

    From a point adjacent to the property known as Oulton House, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 180m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2054, C2051 and C2040.

  4. U2033 Newton – From 14 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1530 hours

    From its junction with the U2035, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 30m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2033, U2034, C2134 and U2035.

  5. C2055 Hesket Newmarket – From 15 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1530 hours

    From its junction with the C2045, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 180m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2055, C2049, B5305 and C2045.

  6. U1136 Nook Lane, Dalston – From 20 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1600 hours

    From its junction with the C2048, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 130m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Nook Lane, U1132, B5299 and C2048.

  7. U1138 Forest View, Dalston – From 22 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours

    From a point adjacent to the property known as Forest View, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 110m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1126, C2051 and C1021.

  8. U2101 Gisland – From 26 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours

    From a point approx. 100m north west of its junction with the C2011, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 170m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2103, A595, B5299 and C2011.

  9. C1028 Gisland – From 27 January 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0830 and 1630 hours

    From its junction with B6318, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 270m.

    Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C1028, C1025 and B6318.
