What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1016 ROCKCLIFFE CROSS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable level crossing works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C1016 Rockcliffe Cross from its junction with the C1022, for a distance of approx. 50m either side of the centre line of the level crossing.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C1016, C1015 Rockcliffe to Harker and C1022.

The Order will come into operation on 3 January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
