CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(STOCKBRIDGE ROAD, CLIFTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Stockbridge Road, Clifton outside number 1.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 19 to 21 January 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Brickle Place, Newis Crescent, Broad St, Church St and vice versa.

(SUNDERLAND ROAD, SANDY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sunderland Road, Sandy from jct with Faynes Court to jct with Bedford Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable gas mains replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 19 January to 6 February 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Sunderland Rd, A1, Bedford Rd and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 19 January 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Sutton for the entire length of road.
This temporary closure is required to enable footway and carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 8 January 2026 between the hours of 9am and 1530pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B1040, Biggleswade Rd, B1042, Sutton Rd and vice versa.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Everton Road and Everton Hill, Tempsford 20 metres either side of the level crossing.
This temporary closure is required to enable level crossing testing work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 4th to 5th January 2026 between the hours of 11pm and 6am. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Sandy Rd, Everton Rd, Swaden, Potton Rd/B1042, Bedford Rd/B1042, At Sandy Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto London Rd/A1, Everton Rd and vice versa.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Orchard Way, Lower Stondon outside number 9.
This temporary closure is required to enable comms pipe repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 5 to 7 January 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
There is no alternative route for this closure.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Broom from High Road to Southill Rd.
This temporary closure is required to enable drainage works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 5 to 13 January between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure will be via High Road, Gypsy Lane, Southill Rd, and vice versa.

On 16th December 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-
To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following lengths of road in Sandy:-
1. Winchester Road, north-east side, from a point 2.5 metres south-east of the shared property boundary between No. 47 and No. 49 Winchester Road and extending in a north-westerly direction at a 90° angle, covering an area approximately 5 metres in length and 3 metres in width.
