Leyland Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(WESTERN DRIVE AND LEYLAND LANE, LEYLAND, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Western Drive, Leyland from its junction with Mellor Road, Leyland to its junction with Leyland Lane, Leyland.
2. The prohibitions in article 1 will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 5th January 2026 until 1700 hours on Friday 16th January 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
3. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to wait at any time on that length of Leyland Lane (southbound carriageway), Leyland from its junction with Oak View for a distance of 17 metres in a northerly direction.
4. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to load/unload at any time on that length of Leyland Lane (southbound carriageway), Leyland from its junction with Oak View for a distance of 17 metres in a northerly direction.
5. The prohibitions in articles 3 and 4 will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 5th January 2026 until 1700 hours on Friday 30th January 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
6. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
7. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
8. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Western Drive – Leyland Lane – Fairhaven Road – Hoghton Road – Mellor Road and Vice Versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out.
