Pimbo Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PIMBO LANE, UP HOLLAND, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Pimbo Lane, Up Holland from its junction with Long Lane for a distance of 355 metres in a northerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0930 to 1530 hours on Monday 12th January 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Long Lane, Crawford Road, Reeds Brow, Hydes Brow, B5205 Higher Lane, B5202 Red Cat Lane, B5202 Crank Road, B5206 Up Holland Road, B5206 St James Road, B5206 Moor Road, A577 Orrell Road, A577 School Lane, A577 Parliament Street, A577 Grove Road, A577 Dingle Road, A577 Ormskirk Road, A577 Newgate Road, A577 Windmill Road, A577 Stannanaught Road, Chequers Lane and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow pole replacement and pole testing works to be carried out.
