Bridlington Bay Road Level Crossing, Carnaby - Temporary Traffic Regulation
What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 BRIDLINGTON
BAY ROAD LEVEL CROSSING, CARNABY
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along
Bridlington Bay Road, Carnaby and 20 metres either
side of the level crossing commencing 18 January
2026 at 23.00 hours until 19 January 2026 at 05.00
hours. The reason for the closure is to enable the
proposed Bridlington Bay Road, Carnaby annual level
crossing testing works, to be carried out and completed
in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. It is anticipated that the works will be
completed within six hours. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the Order is via A165 Bridlington Bay
Road, A165 Moor Lane, A165 Wilsthorpe Roundabout,
A1038 Kingsgate, A1038 Kingsgate Roundabout, A1038
Bessingby Road, A1038 Bessingby Way Roundabout,
A165 Driffield Road, A165 Main Street and A165
Carnaby Roundabout, Bridlington CP, Carnaby CP,
East Wolds and Coastal Ward, Bridlington South Ward.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency vehicles, East Riding
of Yorkshire Council Gritters and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 18 January 2026 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
