NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – David Whitby Way, Crewe
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.
Prohibition of traffic – David Whitby Way, Crewe For the full extent.
The alternative route will be via David Whitby Way Roundabout, David Whitby Way, Crewe Green Link Roundabout, Shavington Bypass, Meremoor Roundabout, Weston Road, Weston Road Roundabout, Savoy Road Weston Road Roundabout and vice versa which is considered the most suitable route.
This order will come into operation on Monday 12th January 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 27th February 2026. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpath No. 19 Parish of Haughton and Public Footpath No.16 (Part) Parish of Stoke and Hurleston
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:
That length of Public Footpath No. 19 Haughton which commences at OS grid (OSGR) reference SJ 601 5627 and runs in a generally east direction for approx. 219 m to OSGR SJ 6032 5625.
That length of Public Footpath No. 16 Stoke and Hurleston which commences at OSGR SJ 6032 5625 and runs in a generally southeast direction for approx. 603 m to OSGR SJ 6076 5587.
The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public posed by a bridge that is in a poor state of repair.
The Order continues the restriction that came into force on 8th December 2025 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 6 months, or until the works required on or adjacent to the footpath are completed
