SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Shrubbery Road, Downend) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Shrubbery Road which extends from Pendennis Road to Downend Park Road.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. Alternative route: Pendennis Road, Pleasant Road and vice versa.
(Monmouth Hill, Almondsbury)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Monmouth Hill which extends from a point 700m west of Townsend westwards for 20m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection works. The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Monmouth Hill, Townsend, Townsend Lane, Church Road, Sundays Hill, Over Lane, Badgers Lane and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with water main renovation works. The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration.
SCHEDULE
1. Pucklechurch Road, Hinton – that length which extends from Dyrham Road generally eastwards for 1000m;
2. Dyrham Road, Hinton – that length which extends from Hinton Common Lane to Cock Lane;
3. Hinton Common Lane, Hinton – its entire length;
4. Chapel Lane, Hinton – its entire length.
Alternative routes (vice versa): 1. Pucklechurch Road, A46, B4465, Abson Road, Feltham Road; 2. Cock Lane, Pucklechurch Road; 3. Pucklechurch Road, Dyrham Road; 4. No alternative route available – dead end road.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon water main renovation works.
The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of six months.
The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 7 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the entire length of Vinney Lane.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon carriageway resurfacing works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration, between 7:30am and 4pm. No alternative route available.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has:- a) closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the length of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) suspended, temporarily, when signs are covered, the County Council of Avon (Various Roads, Wickwar, District of Northavon) (Prohibition of Heavy Commercial Vehicles of Over 7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) (Prohibition of Vehicles of Over 17 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight) Order 1989 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice to facilitate the diversion route.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Wellington Road which extends from Greenways Road to Cheshire Close. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with gas main upgrade works. The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration.
Alternative route: Goose Green Way, Greenways Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Ram Hill which extends from its junction with Serridge Lane southwards for 30m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with duct and blockage clearance works. The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route: Ram Hill (parts unaffected), Henfield Road and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Footpath and Cyclepath MOD Perimeter which extends from a point 50m north of the Filton Abbey Wood Station access north eastwards for 350m.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon footpath widening works.
The order became operative from 5 January 2026 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 12 weeks duration.
Alternative routes (vice versa): Rail users: Footpath in the station, Emma-Chris Way footway, Station Road footway, Abbey Wood Retail Park access footway. Cyclists: Foot and Cyclepath MOD Perimeter (part unaffected), Long Down Avenue cycleway, Abbey Wood Retail Park access cycleway.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Stoke Lane which extends from Braydon Avenue to Amberley Road.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with speed cushion reconstruction works. The order became operative from 8 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 nights duration, between 8pm and 6am.
Alternative route: Little Stoke Lane, Gipsy Patch Lane, Orpheus Avenue, Brook Way, Bradley Stoke Way, A38 Gloucester Road, Stoke Lane and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule 1 to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon grounds maintenance works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 8 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that the works at each location will be carried out between the hours specified in column 2 on the dates specified in column 3 of the said Schedule. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon ducting works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 20 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:-
a) prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding at a speed in excess of 40 miles per hour in the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice; and b) suspend, temporarily, the South Gloucestershire Council (B4465 Westerleigh Road and Wapley Road, Mangotsfield to Codrington Area and Nibley Lane, Yate) (30 mph Speed Limit) (40 mph Speed Limit) (50 mph Speed Limit) Order 2012 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice, for the duration of the order.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole testing and tree cutting works. The order will be operative from 21 January 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The restriction however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am and 3:30pm.
SCHEDULE Wapley Road – that length which extends from a point 900m south west of Bath Road south westwards for 600m.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Gloucester Road Subway.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pump maintenance works.
The order will be operative from 21 January 2026 for a maximum period of six months.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended has made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.
This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon CRSTS active travel works on or adjacent to the highway.
