What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD FOOTPATH NO.86)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of “The Nottinghamshire County Council (Kirkby in Ashfield Footpath No.86) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2025” (which came into force on 25th June 2025 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which remains in force until 24th December 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 24th January 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
in the following length of Footpath at Kirkby in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield: -
Kirkby in Ashfield Footpath No.86, from Felley Avenue to the playground, Skegby Road and The Steeples.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available for pedestrians will be as follows:-
Felley Avenue and Skegby Road and vice versa
If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to protect the public while a boundary fence is made secure following a dog related incident.
