Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A28 Canterbury Road, Godmersham. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2026
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction, on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Godmersham from 20th January 2026, with estimated completion by 21st January 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary 30 mph speed restriction on A28 Canterbury Road will be imposed in the vicinity of ‘Highworth’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
A28 Chart Road, Ashford, TN23 3HZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JANUARY 2026
To allow railway bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Chart Road, Ashford from 22:00 hours on 22nd January 2026, with estimated completion by 06:00 hours on 23rd January 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed either side of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via A28 Templer Way, A292 Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road, New Street and Chart Road.

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of B2082 Smallhythe Road, Tenterden from 20th January 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Chapel Down heading approximately 189m southwards, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Biddenden Road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow rail corrosion inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bridge Street, Wye from 23:45 hours on 19th January 2026, with estimated completion by 05:00 hours on 20th January 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of Wye level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bridge Street, Harville Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A2070, Hinxhill Road, Naccolt Road, Oxenturn Road, Upper Bridge Street, Church Street, Churchfield Way and vice versa.

The road will be closed, westbound only, outside Cammegh (Bridge House), to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via Chart Road, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout and A28 Templer Way.

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Coldblow, Woodchurch from 5th January 2026, with estimated completion by 8th January 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of May Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow frame and cover replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cranbrook Road, Tenterden from 19th January 2026, with estimated completion by 23rd January 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hangershell, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cranbrook Road, Tenterden Road, Benenden Road, A262 Benenden Road, Tenterden Road, Biddenden Road, High Halden Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Grange Road, Ashford Road, Silver Hill, Ashford Road, East Cross, High Street, West Cross, Rolvenden Road and vice versa.

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Forge Hill, Mill Road & Mill Lane, Aldington from 5th January 2026, with estimated completion by 6th February 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The roads will be closed as a rolling closure, in phases, between the junctions with New Hill Road and Rocky Bourne Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative routes for through traffic are as follows:
Diversion 1 - Mill Road, New Road Hill, Cherry Orchard Lane, D1416 From Junction With Bourne Road To Junction With Frogmore Lane, Rocky Bourne Road, Mill Lane and vice versa.

To allow culvert replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Frogmore Lane, Bonnington from 19th January 2026, with estimated completion by 20th March 2026, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed south of Royal Military Canal, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2067 Bonnington Road, Knoll Hill, Giggers Green Road, From Newchurch Town Boundary To Eastbridge Road, From Newchurch To Newchurch Town Boundary, Frogmore Lane and vice versa.

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Goldwell Lane & Ashford Road, Great Chart, in phases, from 19th January 2026, with estimated completion by 18th May 2026 or until the works have been completed.
Goldwell Lane will be closed between the junctions with Daniels Water and A28 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Woodchurch Road and Snargate Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kenardington Road, Woodchurch Road, Bench Hill, Appledore Road, Warehorne Road, B2067 Kennardington Road, Warehorne Road, Appledore Road, Kenardington Road and vice versa.

The road will be closed between ‘Dillington’ and ‘Eastlands’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Pluckley Road, Charing Heath Road, Egerton Road, Tile Lodge Road, Maidstone Road, Ashford Road, Station Road and vice versa.

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Rowling Street, Bilsington from 20th January 2026 with estimated completion by 21st January 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction with Brisley Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
