TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
I) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
BINHAM – U14001 The Street from 540m east of its junction with C315 Stiffkey Road for 150m eastwards to facilitate overhead fibre cabling works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 22nd December 2025 (may continue until 2nd February 2026).
Alternative route is via: C315 Stiffkey Road, C598 Langham Road/Binham Road, C798 Aylmerton Road, U14001 The Street, Langham, Binham. The works promoter is BT.
FREETHORPE – A) Lower Green from its junction with Potters Road for 115m northwards and B) Reedham Road from its junction with Acle Road for 75m southwards to facilitate speed and village sign installation works from 22nd to 23rd December 2025 (may continue until 3rd February 2026). Alternative route is via: Potters Road, Grove Road, The Common, Chapelfield, The Green, Lower Green Hill Road, Halvergate Road, Freethorpe Road (Beighton, Cantley, Limpenhoe, Southwood, Freethorpe). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council. NB: Please note that A Road and B Road will not be closed at the same time.

II) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
BRINTON – 1) C330 Sharrington Road/C330 Brinton Road from 82m east of its junction with U14310 Old Hall Lane to its junction with U14719 Bale Road and 2) U14310 Old Hall Lane from its junction with C330 Sharrington Road for 100 metres south-westwards to facilitate telegraph pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026). Alternative route is via: 1) C330Brinton Road, Hall Lane, Holt Road, Fakenham Road, Letheringsett Hill, Norwich Road. Thornage Road, The Street, Dereham Road, Sharrington Road 2) Old Hall lane, C330 Sharrington Road (Letheringsett with Glanford, Briningham, Thornage, Brinton, Holt, Stody).
NB Only one road closure to be in place at any one time. The works promoter is BT.
FOULSHAM & THEMELTHORPE – C199 The Street from its junction with Old Hall Lane for 30m southwards to facilitate fibre hydrant repairs from 15th to 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026). Alternative route is via: The Street, High Street, Station Road, Foxley Road, B1145 A1067Fakenham Road, B1145 Norwich Road/Reepham Road/Bawdeswell Road (Bawdeswell, Foulsham, Foxley, Hoe, Reepham, Foulsham, Bintree, Themelthorpe). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
GREAT YARMOUTH – Suffolk Road from 230m north of its junction with Boundary Road for 40m northwards to facilitate new electrical connection works on the site from 15th to 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Suffolk Road, Stafford Road, Station Road, Southtown Road, Boundary Road. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
HICKLING – C639 Stubb Road from its junction with C407 Heath Road for 80m eastwards to facilitate installation of a new electrical connection from 9:30 to 15:30 on 19th December 2025 (may continue until 30th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Heath Road, Staithe Road, Ouse Lane, Stubb Road. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
KNAPTON – C421 Hall Lane from its junction with U19255 School Close for 40 metres southwards to facilitate Openreach box installation and duct laying works from 15th to 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: C421 Hall Lane, C636 North Walsham Road, C636 Bacton Road, C636 Crow Road, C636 Mundesley Road, C636 Lyngate Road, B1145 North Walsham By-pass, B1145 The Street, B1145 Knapton Road (Swafield, Paston, North Walsham, Knapton). The works promoter is BT.
NORTH WALSHAM – U10322 Marshgate from its junction with U10323 Rookery Green to its junction with U10320 Bluebell Road to facilitate carriageway repairs from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Bluebell Road, Bacton Road, Crow Road, Mundesley Road, Lyngate Road, B1145 North Walsham By-pass, A149 North Walsham By-pass, Norwich Road, Grammar School Road, Yarmouth Road, New Road, Pound Road, Marshgate. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
SHERINGHAM – C507 Beeston Road from 15m north of its junction with Roberson Close for 30m northwards to facilitate railway bridge inspection works between 21:00 and 06:00 from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Beeston Road, The Avenue, Avenue South, Curtis Lane, Beeston Common, Cromer Road. The works promoter is Network Rail.
WALCOTT – U1903 Ostend Road from 152m northwest of its junction with Blueflag BP6 for 30m north westwards to facilitate Anglian Water main laying works from 15th to 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Ostend Road, North Walsham Road, Gascott Road, Coast Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA – U10100 Newgate Lane from 50m north of its junction with U14473 Station Road for 20m northwards to facilitate new water connections from 16:00 on 15th to 06:00 on 16th to 18th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026). Alternative route is via: U10100 Newgate Lane, A149 Warham Road, Station Road, U10101 Clubbs Lane, U10102 Burnt Street. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

ASLACTON – U76035 The Street from its junction with U76101 Steeple Lane for 450m southwards to facilitate kerbing and grip works from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: The Street, Wash Lane, Plantation Road, Sneath Road, Woodrow Lane, Church Road (Great Moulton, Aslacton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
ASLACTON – C344 Woodrow Lane from its junction with U76103 Mill Lane for 150m northwards to facilitate BT pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on the 18th December 2025 (may continue until 29th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Woodrow Lane, Church Road, The Street, Wash Lane, Plantation Road, Sneath Road (Great Moulton, Aslacton). The works promoter is BT.
BLO’ NORTON – 1) Church Lane from its junction with The Street for 412m southwards and 2) Middle Road from its junction with Church Lane for 134m eastwards to facilitate overhead lines and pole replacement works between 09:30 and 16:00 on 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Diversion 1: Hopton Road, Thelnetham Road, B1111 High Street/Common Road, C145 Hall Lane. Diversion 2: U33166 Selfs Lane, C145 The Street (Thelnetham, Garboldisham, Blo’ Norton, Hopton). The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
CRINGLEFORD – C184 Low Road from its junction with U78471 Mark Lemmon Close for 440m eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council patching works from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Keswick Road, Low Road, Mulbarton Road, Ipswich Road, Daniels Road, Newmarket Road, Eaton Street (Cringleford, Keswick and Intwood).
DEREHAM – C888 Mowles Road from its junction with C215 Elsing Lane for 300m north-north-eastwards to facilitate drainage trench works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: C888 Mowles Road/Elting Green/Norwich Road, C496 Norwich Road, C585 Mattishall Way, C553 Neatherd Road, U30113 Kings Road, C243 Swanton Road and vice versa (North Tuddenham, Dereham, Swanton Morley).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
FRAMINGHAM PIGOT – C188 Pigot Lane 600m north-west of its junction with C797 Long Road for 100m north-eastwards to facilitate district meter replacement and bypass fitting works from 15th to 19th December 2025 (may continue until 30th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Fox Road, A146 Loddon Road, B1332 Bungay Road, B1332 Norwich Road, Long Road, Pigot Lane (Framingham Pigot, Poringland, Framingham Earl, Kirby Bedon, Caister St. Edmund and Bixley).
The works promoter is Anglian Water.
GISSING – U76040 Glebe Road from its junction with C342 Rectory Road for 140m eastwards to facilitate tree felling work between 09:00 and 15:00 on 18th December 2025 (may continue until 29th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Glebe Road, Hall Green, Gissing Road, The Street, Green Lane, Station Lane, Long Row, Rectory Road (Gissing, Tivetshall, Aslacton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
PORINGLAND – C375 Dove Lane from its junction with B1332 Norwich Road for 165m north-eastwards to facilitate new fibre network installation works from 15th to 18th December 2025 (may continue until 29th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: B1332 Norwich Road, Entrance Lane, Welbeck, Lower Kiln Lane, Church Road, Green Lane (Poringland, Bergh Apton, Brooke, Alpington). The works promoter is CityFibre.
THETFORD – Gloucester Way to Brunel Way Footpath from 80m west of its junction with U30216 Brunel Way for 50m westwards to facilitate electrical works from 15th to 19th December 2025 (may continue until 30th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
WATTON – 1) U33148 Harvey Street from its junction with B1108 High Street for 35m north-eastwards and 2) U33148 Harvey Street from 30m northeast of its junction with B1108 High Street for 465m eastwards and 3) U33450 Dereham Road from its junction with U33148 Harvey Street for 123m eastwards to facilitate carriageway repair works, to the (1) will be temporarily closed and road 2) and 3) will be closed to vehicles (not pedestrians/cyclists) with access only maintained for residents and blue light vehicles 2) from the both a easterly and westerly direction from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 30th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: U33148 Harvey Street, U33450 Dereham Road, A1075 Cadman Way, B1108 Brandon Road, B1108 High Street.
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA – U10100 Standard Road from its junction with A149 Warham Road to 450m westwards to facilitate pole replacement works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 15th December 2025.
Alternative route is via: B1105 Bellamy’s Lane to junction with A149 Warham Road, A149 Warham Road to Standard Road.
The works promoter is BT.
BURNHAM NORTON – U22165 Herrings Lane from its junction with A149 Main Road for 50m south-westwards to facilitate carriageway patching works between 08:00 and 15:00 from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Herrings Lane, Market Place, Church Walk, Whiteway Road, Main Road (Burnham Norton, Burnham Market, Barsham).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
TERRINGTON ST JAMES – C3 Smeeth Road from 350m northeast of its junction with C20 Trinity Road for 30m north-eastwards to facilitate new connection works from 15th to 19th December 2025 (may continue until 25th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Smeeth Road, School Road, Main Road, Lynn Road, Mill Lane, Trinity Road (Terrington St. John, Walpole Highway, Marshland St. James).
The works promoter is Anglian Water.
METHWOLD – C36 Broad Drove from its junction with U21375 Thornham Road to its junction with B110 Road to facilitate patching works between 15th to 17th December 2025 (may continue until 28th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: College Road, Wereham Bypass, Lynn Road, Stoke Road, Stoke Ferry Bypass A134, Whittington Hill, Thetford Road, West End, Methwold Road, Northwold Road, High Street, Crown Street, Hythe Road, Severalls Road (Methwold, Stoke Ferry, Northwold, Wereham).
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
MIDDLETON – C553 Station Road from its junction with A47 Lynn Road for 200m northwards to facilitate tree cutting works between 08:00 and 16:00 on 18th December 2025 (may continue until 9th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Station Road, Brow Of The Hill, Gayton Road, Lynn Road, Queen Elizabeth Way, A47 J10/A149 Lynn Road from Larger To Smaller Roundabout E, Constitution Hill, A47 From J B1153 To J A10/A149 (North Runcton, Leziate, Bawsey, Middleton).
The works promoter is Highway Safety Management Ltd.
OUTWELL – Well Creek Road from 40m west of its junction with U21155 Baldwins Drove for 80m eastwards to facilitate pole replacement works between 08:00 and 09:30 on 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Well Creek Road, Downham Road.
The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
OUTWELL – U21017 Mullicourt Road from 480m north of its junction with A1122 Downham Road for 780m northwards to facilitate pole replacement works from 17th to 18th December 2025 (may continue until 29th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Mullicourt Road, Downham Road, Langhorns Lane, Angle Road.
The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
WALPOLE – C21 Walpole Bank from its junction with U21039 West Drove North for 200m south-eastwards to facilitate trial hole works from 15th to 19th December 2025 (may continue until 30th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: Walnut Road, West Drove North.

WALSOKEN – C32 Burrett Road from its junction with B198 Lynn Road for 180m westwards to facilitate carriageway patching works from 15th to 16th December 2025 (may continue until 27th January 2026).
Alternative route is via: B198 Lynn Road.
The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
The team dealing with enquiries at Norfolk County Council is West Streetworks.
Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath.
Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required.
The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
