What is happening?
THE PORTSMOUTH CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS) (PROHIBITED MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council made the above Order on 17th December 2025 under The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The effect of the Order will be to consolidate the Orders specified in Schedule 4 of the Order into a single Order and update descriptions, making no changes to the highway itself.
3. A copy of the Order is available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search "Traffic Regulation Orders 2025" at
Alternatively, it can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. A printed copy can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
4. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
5. This Order comes into operation on Monday 22nd December 2025.
