Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025
– Thorney Road, Peakirk, Peterborough Ref: 26-239
The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Thorney Road, Peakirk as lies between points 20 metres either side of the Folly Bank Level Crossing. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is via: B1443 Thorney Rd, Werrington Bridge Rd, Glinton Bypass, B1443 Lincoln Rd, High St, Peakirk Rd, St Pegas Rd and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into force on the 27/12/2025 and will continue until the railway level crossing test works have been completed or until the 26/12/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 22:00hrs and 06:00hrs from the 27/12/2025 to the 28/12/2025. The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the roads detailed in the schedule below.

The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above roads. The alternative routes for vehicles affected by this order are detailed in the schedule. The proposed order will come into force on the 05/01/2026 and will continue until the slab replacement works have been completed or until the 04/01/2027, whichever is the earlier. As per the schedule, the One Way system on Kingsley Road will be suspended to facilitate these works. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. The proposed order will come into force on the 12/01/2026 and will continue until the installation of bollards works have been completed or until the 11/01/2027, whichever is the earlier. The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Willow Hall Lane, as a point approximately 500m north east of Walnut Lodge access road. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A47, Paston Parkway, Parnwell Way, Oxney Road, Edgerley Drain Road, Storey’s Bar Road, Pearces Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 13/01/2026 and will continue until the rechamber SV and repack works have been completed or until the 12/01/2027, whichever is the earlier. Goldhay Way Ref: 26-228
To extend the previous notice, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Goldhay Way, as lies between Orton Busway and Medworth. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Goldhay Way, Orton Parkway, Fletton Parkway and vice versa. The proposed order came into force on the 18/11/2025 and will continue until the sewer collapse repair works have been completed or until the 17/11/2026, whichever is the earlier.
