What is happening?

(Chichester: Brandy Hole Lane)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close the section of Brandy Hole Lane between No. 8 and Warren Farm Lane.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst high voltage electrical connections are installed.

The Order will come into effect on 12 January 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated works will commence on or after 12 January 2026 and will take 10 days to complete.

(Tillington: Public Footpath No. 1057)
(Temporary Closure) No. 2 Order 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from proceeding along a length of Public Footpath No 1057 from its western end at its junction with Public Footpath No. 1058_1 (grid reference 494307.778, 123479.107), eastwards to its junction with Public Bridleway No. 1027 (grid reference 494596.322, 123525.978), a distance of approximately 390M.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety due to a damaged bridge awaiting repair.

Unfortunately there are no alternative routes available using the Public Rights of Way network.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd December 2025 and will last for 6 months.

(Bersted: North Bersted Street)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close North Bersted Street in Bersted from its junction with Chichester Road to its junction with Rowan Way. The road closure is needed to allow gas mains to be replaced in safety.

The Order will come into effect on 5 January 2026 and remain in force until 8 May 2026. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.
