What is happening?
SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL
Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and
Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure
Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215)
SHE/436A (PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 2025 (“the Order”)
EXTENSION
1. Sheffield City Council gives notice that the Secretary of State has granted an Extension to the Order made in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 (as amended) over the area of highway being SHE/436A from Loxley Road to SHE/436B.
2. The Extension to the Order was granted because of the likelihood of danger to the public.
3. The Order made on 29 May 2025 was approved by the Secretary of State and an extension to the Order will continue in effect until 29 August 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
4. While the Order is in operation it will prohibit any pedestrian from travelling in the length of footpath as described within paragraph 1 to the Order.
5. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.
6. The alternative route for the traffic affected by this Order will be via Loxley Road and SHE/436B.
