What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC BRIDLINGTON
BAY ROAD LEVEL CROSSING, CARNABY
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along Bridlington Bay Road Level Crossing, Carnaby and
20 metres either side of the level crossing commencing
18 January 2026 at 23.00 hours until 19 January
2026 at 05.00 hours for the purposes of annual level
crossing testing works. The road closure is necessary
to enable the works to be carried out in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within six hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via A165 Bridlington Bay Road, A165
Moor Lane, A165 Wilsthorpe Roundabout, A1038
Kingsgate, A1038 Kingsgate Roundabout, A1038
Bessingby Road, A1038 Bessingby Way Roundabout,
A165 Driffield Road, A165 Main Street and A165
Carnaby Roundabout, Bridlington CP, Carnaby CP,
East Wolds and Coastal Ward, Bridlington South Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through
traffic but access will be maintained for emergency
vehicles, East Riding of Yorkshire Council Gritters and
pedestrians. Further information can be obtained
