NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
The Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the County of Lancashire
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY PUBLIC FOOTPATHS AT CORONATION FIELD, LANCASTER CITY (DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION) ORDER 2015

On the 29 September 2025 the Lancashire County Council confirmed the above Order.
The effect of the Order, as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by adding 3 public footpaths as follows:
A Public Footpath commencing from the junction of New Quay Road, running generally south across land known locally as Coronation Field and then in a south easterly direction to cross the dismantled railway, continuing south easterly to Willow Lane Recreation Ground, for a total distance of approximately 550 metres.
A Public Footpath commencing at a point on the dismantled railway line running in an approximately south westerly direction to meet Public Footpath 33 Lancaster City in Freemans Wood, for a total distance of approximately 200 metres.
A Public Footpath commencing at the junction with Public Bridleways 32 & 34 Lancaster City and Public Footpaths 30 & 33 Lancaster City and running in a generally north easterly and then south south easterly direction to a point on the dismantled railway, for a total distance of approximately 390 metres.
A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at the offices of the Lancaster City Council, and at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £1.00.

The Order took effect on the 29 September 2025, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under Paragraph 11 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from the date of publication of this Notice, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
