What is happening?

 EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U6957 Swainham Lane, Crowhurst)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Swainham Lane – from the junction with C93 Crowhurst Road to the junction with U6957 Breadsell Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 16 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6961 Mill Lane, Westfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mill Lane – from the junction with U6975 Cottage Lane to the junction with A28 Main Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6975 Cottage Lane – A28 Main Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C94 Marley Lane, Battle)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Marley Lane – from the junction with P6823 Rutherfords to the junction with U6330 Harrier Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C94 Marley Lane – A2100 Upper Lake, High Street, Ten Sixty Six roundabout, London Road – A21(T) Johns Cross roundabout, Vinehall Road, Woodmans Green Road, Hastings Road – C94 Marley Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 and 17 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6576 Ellerslie Lane, Bexhill)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Ellerslie Lane – from the junction with C346 Turkey Road to the junction with U6579 Fryatts Way.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C346 Turkey Road – U6589 Gunters Lane – U6586 West Down Road – A259(T) Little Common Road – U6744 Broadoak Lane – U6737 Deerswood Lane – U6576 Ellerslie Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C17 Wartling Road, Wartling)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Wartling Road – from the junction with A271 The Strait to the junction with U7112 Wood Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C17 Wartling Road, Wartling Hill, Wartling Road – A27(T) Pevensey Haven roundabout – A259(T) Marsh Road – B2095 Top Road, Hooe Road, Lower Street – A269 Bexhill Road, The Green, High Street, Standard Hill – A271 Boreham Hill, The Strait and vice versa.

The Order commences 18 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 18 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
