What is happening?

NOTICE OF PROPOSALS

CHURCH STREET – WERRINGTON

SPEED LIMIT AMENDMENT ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that The Council of the City of Peterborough proposes to make the above mentioned Order under Sections 82(2)(b), 83(2) and 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, ‘the Act of 1984’ and of all other enabling powers.

The effect of this Order is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on the following roads:

a) C hurch Street, Werrington from its junction with Canterbury Road to its junction with The Green

b)F oxcovert Road from its junction with Fenbridge Road for 290m in a northerly direction.

c) B arnes Way, Barn Close, Pipistrelle Court, Werrington Mews, Chapel Lane, Lancing Close, The Green, Hall Lane, Werrington Park Avenue, Addington Way, Ainsdale Drive, Foxley Close, Birkdale Avenue, Shepherds Close, Fenbridge Road, Crester Drive, Amberley Slope, Cissbury Ring, Storrington Way, The Steynings, Lewes Gardens, The Orchard for their full lengths.

If you have any objections to the proposed Order they must be submitted in writing or via e-mail to the undersigned by the closing date of 8th January 2026 clearly stating your reasons for objecting.

CITY CENTRE PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that The Council of the City of Peterborough proposes to make the above Order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, ‘the Act of 1984’, as amended as amended by the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and Counter Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019, and all other enabling powers following consultation with the Chief Officer of the Police.

The effect of this Order is to make Long Causeway, Cathedral Square, Church Street, Bridge Street, Exchange Street, Cumbergate and Queen Street a Pedestrian and Cycle Zone.
