What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF BOTH
MAIN STREET AND BROAD LANE,
LOW CATTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part
of both Main Street and Broad Lane, Low Catton from
its junction with Nursery Court southbound to a
property called The Lintel commencing 19 January
2026 at 08.00 hours until 23 January 2026 at 17.00
hours for the purposes of installation of ducting and
chambers for the new BDUK fibre network on behalf
of Quickline Communications works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within five days. The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via Broad Lane,
Lofthouse Lane, Main Street, Church Lane and
Main Street, Catton CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
