Walton Le Dale - Temporary Traffic Prohibition

What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
BRIDLEWAY BW0602071 PRESTON, PRESTON CITY, NON DEFINITIVE ROUTE TO WHICH THE PUBLIC HAVE ACCESS (FP0602000), PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0702078 WALTON LE DALE AND BRIDLEWAYS BW0702080 & BW0702079 WALTON LE DALE, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 25th December, 2025, remaining in force until the 29th May, 2026, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over those lengths of the routes indicated below:-
FP0702078 Walton Le Dale, South Ribble (Old Tram Road) from Point C
(SD 5412 – 2743) in a generally northerly direction for approximately 1,100 metres to Point E (SD 5417 – 2856).
BW0702080 Walton Le Dale, South Ribble from Point D (SD 5499 – 2812) in a generally north westerly direction for approximately 940 metres to Point E
(SD 5417 – 2856)
Part BW0702079 Walton Le Dale, South Ribble from Point E (SD 5417 – 2856) in a generally westerly direction for approximately 380 metres to Point F
(SD 5379 -2850)
BW0602071 Preston & non definitive route to which the public have access FP0602000, Preston from Point J (SD 5415 – 2868) in a generally southerly direction for approximately 120 metres to Point E (SD 5417 – 2856)
The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the routes.
Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the routes, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the routes, will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the necessary works
