Surrey - 30mph and 40mph Speed Limit

What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Station Road (B2032) Betchworth, Pebble Hill Road (B2032) Betchworth and Pebble Hill Road (B2032) Tadworth (30mph and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202-

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-named Order, under section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to;

(a) impose a 30mph speed limit in those lengths of road specified and described in the Schedule to this Notice.

(b) revoke “The Surrey County Council Pebblehill Road and Station Road (82032) Betchworth (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 1995” in its entirety. NB the remaining lengths of 40mph speed limit originally imposed by this Order will be re-instated by the New Order. No further changes will occur on the ground and therefore there will be no right to object to this existing restriction.

The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. A copy of the plan showing the length of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be viewed online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-andtransport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-and-transportconsultations (follow the link to Station Road and Pebble Hill Road Speed Limit Proposal).

These documents and a copy of the proposed Order may also be viewed at: (1) Dorking Library, St Martins Walk, Dorking, Surrey RH4 1UT, during normal opening hours; (2) Reigate Library, Bancroft House, Bancroft Road, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 7RP, during normal opening hours; and (3) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by appointment only.

If you wish to object to, or make representation to, the proposed Order, you must send the grounds for your objection or representation (including any in support) by (1) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; or (2) in writing to the undersigned at Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ by 15 January 2025

(1) that length of Station Road (B2032) Betchworth as extends from a point 35m north of its junction at the roundabout with (A25) Reigate Road and (C57) Station Road to its junction with (B2032) Pebble Hill Road and (X25097) The Coombe

(2) that length of Pebble Hill Road (B2032) Betchworth as extends from its junction with (B2032) Station Road and (X25097) The Coombe to a point 887 metres south of its junction with (B2033) Headley Common Road)
