Croydon - Multiple Traffic Notices, Parking Changes and Temporary Road Closures due to Survey, Repairs and Maintenance Works
What is happening?

THE CROYDON (ON-STREET CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (NO. 23) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 01 December 2025 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
The general effect of the Orders will be to:
a) Designate new and amended parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.

Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 15 December 2025, and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 10am and 6pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made at Croydon Central Library, Katharine Street, CR9 1ET. Alternatively, all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.
3. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS
DOWNS ROAD, COULSDON
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to cleanse and survey surface water assets, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Downs Road.
Whilst the said works are taking place Downs Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junctions with Fairdene Road and Ditches Lane.
During the closure the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Reddown Road and Fairdene Road, as appropriately signposted.
The Order will come into operation on 04 December 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within two days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
GOODENOUGH WAY, COULSDON – TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate cable repairs by UKPN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on Goodenough Way, Coulsdon.
Whilst the said works are taking place Goodenough Way will be closed outside No. 105 Goodenough Way.
During the closure the diversion route for traffic will be as specified below.
• Via Goodenough Way, Lacy Green, Ellis Road, and Goodenough Road
The Order will come into operation on 04 December 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14, AS AMENDED
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR OR PEDESTRIAN ACCESS AND TEMPORARY PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Croydon Council, HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate essential highway maintenance works that may take place within the London Borough of Croydon, they intend to amend “The Croydon (Highways Maintenance Works) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic and Pedestrian Traffic) Order 2025” to include the effect of:
Prohibiting vehicular or pedestrian access,
Suspending designated disabled bays,
Suspending pay by phone or permit parking bays,
Suspending waiting, loading or unloading measures
to the extent and at such times as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
