What is happening?
SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S – PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
The Order/s came into force on 15th December 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Layby B4364 between
Upper Ledwyche and Cleedownton
Date & Duration: 15th December 2025 for 99 days
Purpose: Layby Closure-location of site compound for works being carried out
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Long Lane, Neachley,
Shifnal
Date & Duration: 16th December 2025 for 4 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure to enable carriageway repairs
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between A49 and B4365
Date & Duration: 20th December 2025 from 23:00 to 10:00 21st December 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail -RRV access and egress and maintenance
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Aston on Clun and Hopesay
Date & Duration: 16th December 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 8 decayed BT poles
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Shrawardine and The A5
Date & Duration: 16th December 2025 for 3 days
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, pole testing works.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, B4398 to Crickheath
Date & Duration: 17th December 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Erecting new poles either side of road in private.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Cherrington
Date & Duration: 15th December 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace decayed pole
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Kinnerley
Date & Duration: 16th December 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Erect new 11kv poles in private
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Newport Road, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 18th December 2025 from 21:00 to 05:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail-Structural inspection of the railway bridge.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from Parking, Waiting and Loading on High Street, Mardol Head and Shoplatch, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 17th December 2025 between 15:00 to 20:00
Purpose: Shrewsbury Carols in the Square event
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road between A49 to Wistanstow
Date & Duration: 15th December 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water - Hydrant renew
Diversion routes for all closures will be signed on site and details are available on
