What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STANSTEAD DRIVE AND MURCHISON ROAD, HODDESDON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):-

1. that length of Stanstead Drive, Hoddesdon from its junction with Stanstead Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m. An alternative route will be via Stanstead Road, Middlefield Road, Fairfield Road, Tregelles Road, Highbury Avenue and Stanstead Drive.

2. that length of Murchison Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with Stanstead Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m. An alternative route will be via Stanstead Road, Old Highway and Murchison Road.

The Order is needed because gas main works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NELSON STREET/MOLEWOOD ROAD/BEANE ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Nelson Street/Molewood Road/ Beane Road, Hertford from its junction with Wellington Street south westwards, north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 113m (“the length of Roads”).

An alternative route will be via Wellington Street, Byde Street, Farquhar Street, Cross Road, B158 (Bengeo Street/Port Hill/Cowbridge/Old Cross), St Andrew Street, North Road, A119 North Road and Beane Road. The Order is needed because sewer cleaning works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHERRY GREEN LANE, WESTMILL) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cherry Green Lane, Westmill from a point 382m south west of its junction with 3U20 (unnamed road) south westwards for a distance of approximately 142m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cherry Green Lane, 3U20 (unnamed road), C16 (unnamed road) and Cherry Green Lane.

The Order is needed because water connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HODDESDON PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.046) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Hoddesdon Public Footpath No.046 from its junction with New River Gardens north westwards for a distance of approximately 46m (“the Public Footpath”).

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of St Laurence Drive, the footway situated on the west side of A1170 High Road, the footpath situated on the north side of Nos.17-28 Croft Walk, the footpath fronting Nos.1-16 Croft Walk, the footway situated on the north side of Church Lane and Hoddesdon Public Footpath No.047.

The Order is needed because riverbank mainenance works are proposed to be executed near the Public Footpath.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath. (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN STORTFORD ROAD, LITTLE HADHAM) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Stortford Road, Little Hadham from its junction with Cradle End north westwards to its junction with Albury Road, a distance of approximately 2073m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via Hadham Road, A120 Little Hadham Bypass and Standon Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 12 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHAPMORE END, WARE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chapmore End, Ware from a point in line with the southern boundary of ‘Lammas House’ north eastwards for a distance of approximately 154m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Chapmore End, B158 Wadesmill Road, The Common and Chapmore End.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BEAUMONT ROAD, WORMLEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beaumont Road, Wormley from a point 395m north east of its junction with Bread and Cheese Lane north eastwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 245m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Beaumont Road, Bread and Cheese Lane, Appleby Street, Park Lane Paradise and Beaumont Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BRAMFIELD LANE, WATERFORD) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bramfield Lane, Waterford from its junction with Tattle Hill north eastwards to its junction with A119 High Road, a distance of approximately 967m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Tattle Hill, Bramfield Road, A119 North Road and A119 High Road.

The Order is needed because utility and tree cutting works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road. (TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHEMPSTEAD ROAD, BENINGTON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whempstead Road, Benington from its junction with Benington Restricted Byway No.042 north westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Whempstead Road, Whempstead Lane, Mill Lane, A602 Watton at Stone Bypass, High Street, Walkern Road, Church Green, Town Lane and Whempstead Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF COTTERED ROAD, THROCKING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Cottered Road, Throcking from a point 12m north east of its junction with 3U258 (unnamed road) south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Cottered Road, Throcking Lane, A507 Baldock Road, Throcking Road and Cottered Road.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 15 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF C16 GREAT MUNDEN, GREAT MUNDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C16 Great Munden, Great Munden from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.6 Vale Cottages south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via C16 (Great Munden/Nasty/unnamed road), Station Road, A10 (unnamed road/Puckeridge Bypass), Mentley Lane West and C16 Great Munden.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 16 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SCHOLARS HILL, WARESIDE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Scholars Hill, Wareside from its junction with C41 (unnamed road) north eastwards for a distance of approximately 89m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via C41 (unnamed road), B1004 Ware Road and Scholars Hill.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHITEHILL, DANE END) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whitehill, Dane End from its junction with Rowney Lane north westwards to its junction with Little Munden Byway Open to All Traffic and Restricted Byway No.023, a distance of approximately 507m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Potters Green, Standon Green End, Ermine Street, C95 (unnamed road), Mill Lane, Munden Road and Whitehill.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telecom pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
