What is happening?

City Council Notices

Diversion routes would be sign posted where appropriate and access to premises maintained wherever possible. The road would be closed or restricted on a number of occasions for the various durations.

Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) local vehicular access and egress to properties on the closed section of the road.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
VARIOUS ROADS, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along the roads listed in the Schedule below.

The Order would come into effect from 07:00 hours on Monday 22nd December 2025 and is required to enable carriageway repair work including resurfacing, surface treatment and associated works to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Tuesday 31st March 2026.

TEMPORARY PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY/FOOTPATH CLOSURE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY 
(VARIOUS FOOTPATHS)

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of which would be a closure of the lengths of footpath detailed in the Schedule below (when appropriate signage is in place).

The Order would come into operation at 00.01 hours on Friday 19th December 2025 and is required to allow the safe demolition of a derelict block of flats (William Malcom House) on Attoxhall Road.

The maximum duration of this Order is six (6) months but it is expected that the works would be completed by 18th June 2026.

Closure times would be as signed on site.

Any alternative route for pedestrians would be sign posted on site.

Exemptions would be provided for: -

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) anyone in connection with the execution of the said works.

TEMPORARY PARKING & TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
PRIORY ROW, COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Priory Row from its junction with Cuckoo Lane then eastbound for its full length.

The Order would come into effect at 07:00 hours on Monday, 5 January 2026 and is required to enable the installation of 2 new water connections and associated works on Priory Row to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed 6 January 2026.

Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure would be sign posted on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

(d) reasonable local vehicular access to Priory Row.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY PARKING & TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS
RINGWAY WHITEFRIARS SLIP ROAD FROM GOSFORD STREET (NORTHBOUND), COVENTRY

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding along Ringway Whitefriars Slip Road from Gosford Street northbound for its full length.

The Order would come into effect at 07:00 hours on Saturday, 10 January 2026 and is required to enable the installation of new district heat network pipes and associated works on Ringway Whitefriars Slip Road from Gosford Street (Northbound) to take place safely.

The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed 18 January 2026.

Alternative routes for vehicular traffic affected by the closure would be sign posted on site.

Exemptions would be provided for:

(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer in uniform;

(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency;

(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works.

PROPOSED TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER CITY OF COVENTRY (CITYWIDE) (PERMITTED PARKING AREA AND SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (DESIGNATION, WAITING RESTRICTIONS, LOADING RESTRICTIONS, LOADING AREAS AND STREET PARKING PLACES) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2016 – (VARIATION 14) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Coventry City Council (“the Council”), under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), propose to make the above Traffic Regulation Order:-

The Order proposes to implement the following:-

i) A number of road safety concerns have been raised by local residents with regard to problems caused by parking. The problem parking is causing obstructions at junctions and/or reducing visibility of and for exiting vehicles. It is proposed to install waiting restrictions at these locations to prevent parking and improve road safety. In addition, changes are proposed to waiting restrictions, such as adjustments to length of restriction, or new proposals due to traffic management schemes or new developments. These proposals are to improve traffic management and road safety.

ii) As part of the low carbon agenda relating to transport the Council has installed many on street residential charge points across the city. There are advisory parking bays located alongside the charge points. It is proposed to install a restriction on some of these advisory bays to permit their use by Electric Vehicles only, whilst charging/topping up batteries, 8am - 10pm (7 days a week).

iii) Following reviews it has been shown that there are some inconsistencies between Orders and restrictions indicated on street and these anomalies are being resolved by remaking the Orders.

iv) It is proposed to introduce the following Residents’ Permit Parking Scheme:

THAMLEY ROAD – All properties in Thamley Road will be eligible to apply for Zone TR Parking Permits.

v) It is proposed to extend the existing Residents’ Permit Parking Schemes:

ELIZABETH WAY (Zone EL) – Properties 137 to 187 Woodway Lane (odd numbers only) will be eligible to apply for Zone EL Parking Permits.

PARADISE 1 (Zone EW1) – All properties in Silverton Road and properties 673 to 693 Stoney Stanton Road (odd numbers only) will be eligible to apply for Zone EW1 Parking Permits.

The effect of the proposed Order is to add to, vary or amend the waiting restrictions on certain lengths of the following roads: Acacia Avenue, Adam Road, Ashwood Avenue, Baxter Close, Birmingham Road, Bishopton Close, Bridle Path (The), Brindley Paddocks, Brinklow Road, Brownshill Green Road, Cash’s Lane, Centenary Road, Coat of Arms Bridge Road, Coppice (The), Darrach Close, Devon Grove, Eden Road, Everdon Road, Felton Close, Fenside Avenue, Hallam Road, Hockley Lane, Lavender Avenue, Lincroft Crescent, Lyndhurst Croft, Mohawk Bend, Monticello Way, Nod Rise, Pennington Way, Providence Street, Queen Mary’s Road, Rowington Close, Shire Close, Silverton Road, Stoney Stanton Road, Thamley Road, Wainbody Avenue South, Watersmeet Grove, Woodway Lane.

To install restrictions on the existing advisory Electric Vehicle charging bays on Chester Street.

Notice of Intended disposal of Open Space land

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Coventry, in exercise of their powers under section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) and sections 117 - 121 of the Charities Act 2011, as interpreted by Charity Commission guidance CC28 intends to dispose by way of a 15 year lease of an area of land measuring approximately 1,611 sq. metres within War Memorial Park Coventry for padel courts.

The land is currently held for charitable purposes and comprises open space.

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Coventry, in exercise of their powers under section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) intends to dispose by way of a 15 year lease of an area of land measuring approximately 1,125 sq. metres within Longford Park Coventry for padel courts.

TAKE NOTICE that THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COVENTRY, in exercise of their powers under:
• Section 123(2A) of the Local Government Act 1972, and
• Section 117 - 121 of the Charities Act 2011, as interpreted by Charity Commission guidance CC28, intends to dispose of a piece of land at Earlsdon Avenue South, Coventry being the site of the former Wisteria Lodge by way of freehold disposal.

The area which is proposed to be sold comprises approximately 1.22 acres in size.
