(NORWICH, NORFOLK) AND (ACLE, NORFOLK
TO LOWESTOFT, SUFFOLK)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National
Highways Limited(a) has made an Order on the A47 Trunk Road in the City of Peterborough and the counties of Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, to allow maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The duration of each closure will vary depending on the nature of the maintenance work being undertaken on each occasion. The programme of works will start on or after 5 January 2026 and be completed by 23 December 2026. The effect of the Order will be to:
(a) Authorise, in phases, the overnight closure (20.00–08.00) along various lengths of the A47 between Wansford Interchange and 20 metres south of Bascule Bridge in Lowestoft; (b) authorise the closure of:
(i) various slip roads leading to and from the above length of the A47;
(ii) the laybys on the above lengths of the A47;
(iii) the gaps in the central reservation on the above length of the A47.
During the closures traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A47 and local roads.

The Order will come into force on
29 December 2025 and remain in force until 23 December 2026.
