What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WEATHERCOCK LANE, ASPLEY GUISE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Weathercock Lane, Aspley Guise to the side/rear 53 Station Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable new connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 8 January 2026. Between the hours of 0900-1500hrs The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Russell Street and Station Road.

The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HIGH STREET, SILSOE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High St, Silsoe outside number 20a.

This temporary closure is required to enable pole replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 7 January 2026 between the hours of 9am and 1530pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A6, Barton Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 6 January 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BERRY END, EVERSHOLT)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Berry End, Eversholt.

This temporary closure is required to enable gully cleaning work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 8 January 2026 between the hours of 8am and 6pm.

The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Cobblers Lane, C100 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 6 January 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SHILLINGTON: FOOTPATH NO. 14)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No. 14, Shillington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1233 3386 to OS GR TL 1232 3350.

This temporary closure is required as the bridge is damaged and needs replacing. The closure is expected to take place from 19 December 2025 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INSTALL A SIGNALISED TOUCAN CROSSING ON CRANFIELD ROAD, ASPLEY GUISE

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, proposes to establish a Signalised Toucan Crossing on Cranfield Road, Aspley Guise. This proposal is part of a scheme specified in the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan to provide improved facilities for the benefit of pedestrians and cyclists.

A Signalised Toucan Crossing is proposed to be sited at the following location in Aspley Guise:

1.  Cranfield Road, centered at a point approximately 268 metres north of the junction with Lower End Road, Wavendon.
