Packington Avenue -To Introduce A 20mph Speed Limit Restriction
What is happening?
BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL
(SHARD END CRESCENT ETC, SHARD END) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 202*
(PACKINGTON AVENUE, SHARD END) (20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 202*
NOTICE is hereby given that the above named Council propose to make these Orders under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49, 53, 84(1) and (2) 101 and 102 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended) the effect of which will be as follows:
1. To introduce No Waiting at any time restrictions on lengths of SHARD END CRESCENT, TIMBERLEY LANE, HEATH WAY and PEAR TREE ROAD.
2. To introduce a 20mph Speed Limit restriction on a length of PACKINGTON AVENUE.
INSTALLATION OF ROAD HUMPS PACKINGTON AVENUE, SHARD END
NOTICE is also hereby given that above named Council proposes under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 to construct speed cushions up to a maximum height of 75mm, at the following approximate locations, for the purpose of reducing speed:
1. PACKINGTON AVENUE
Full details of these proposals are in the draft Orders which, together with the plans and a statement of the Council’s reasons for the proposals, will be made available on request (Contact Imran Z Khan Tel: 07783 884328: email: Imran.z.khan@birmingham.gov.uk).
Any person wishing to object to the proposed Orders or Road Humps should write to the A Director – Infrastructure and Sustainability at Place, Prosperity & Sustainability Directorate, Birmingham City Council, PO Box 14439, Birmingham B2 2JE stating the grounds for objection by the 8th January 2026.
