What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –

SECTION 14

(WILLIAM STREET, WAKEFIELD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 365) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for a new water supply connection to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: William Street, Wakefield at the junction with Brunswick Street. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of William Street.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including

15th December 2025 at 08.00 hours to 19th December 2025 at 20.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WOOLLEY MILL LANE, NOTTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 366) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to install 100 metres of telecoms ducting & cabling to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Woolley Mill Lane,

Notton near Woolley Mill Cottage. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Woolley Mill Lane. ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Barnsley Road, George Lane, Woolley Mill Lane & vice versa. Pedestrian access maintained at all times, residents access maintained when safe to do so.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including

12th December 2025 to 16th December 2025

08.00 hours to 18.00 hours road open at all other times, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(HILL TOP ROAD, NEWMILLERDAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 368) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to desilt the carriageway to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Hill Top Road,

Newmillerdam for approximately 100 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Hill Top Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Chevet Lane, Barnsley Road & vice versa. Residents access to be maintained where possible.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 17th December 2025 to 18th December 2025 closed 20.00 hours to 05.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FOOTPATH NO. 1, CRIGGLESTONE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 143) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for public safety due to erosion of river banking to be carried out on or near Footpath No. 1, Crigglestone from the junction with Denby Dale Road, Wakefield and Footpath Wakefield No. 73, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians: A636 Denby

Dale Road, Access Road to Pugneys Country Park, unnamed path at Pugneys Country Park, Footpath Wakefield 73 & vice versa.

The order comes into operation on 4th June 2025 to 4th June 2026 or until the works are complete and the route is safe to use, whichever is the sooner.

The closure was originally in force until the 3rd

December 2025, however an extension has been granted by the Secretary of State to extend the closure until 4th June 2026 as above. Dated this 11th day of December 2025
