Gloucestershire - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE B4066 THE STREET (ULEY PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the B4066 The Street Road from its junction with Fop Street to its junction with New Street for a distance of approximately 335 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for traffic surveys into historic works by Gigaclear
The said road is expected to be closed from 09:30hrs until 14:30hrs on 5th January 2026 only or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 401611 HAMFIELD LANE (BERKELEY TOWN) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401611 Hamfield Lane from its junction with “the road from High Street Berkeley to Ham” to outside of the property known as “Sea Mills Works” for a distance of approximately 950 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for water main renewal works on behalf of Severn Trent Water
The said road is expected to be closed from 5th January 2026 to 15th February 2026 or until the works have been completed. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C327 ROAD FROM HIGH STREET BERKELEY TO HAM (BERKELEY TOWN) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C327 Road from High Street Berkeley to Ham from outside of the property known as “Ham House Stables” to its junction with “Clapton Road” for a distance of approximately 670 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for water main renewal works on behalf of Severn Trent Water
The said road is expected to be closed from 5th January 2026 to 15th February 2026 or until the works have been completed. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C285 HILLSLEY ROAD (KINGSWOOD PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C285 Hillsley Road from its junction with Nind Lane to outside of the property known as “No.15 Hillsley Road” a distance of approximately 675 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for air and water service works on behalf of BT Openreach
The said road is expected to be closed on 6th January 2026 only. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTION OF VARIOUS ROADS (VARIOUS PARISHES) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the lengths of roads as described in the Schedule below.

SCHEDULE

FOR THE ROADS AND DETAILS PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE NOTICE (pdf format) SHOWN AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.

The reason for the said closures and restrictions is for carriageway resurfacing works.

The said roads are expected to be closed and restricted at various times from 5th January 2026, where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether they are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the said closures and restrictions taking effect. This Order may permit the said closures and restriction in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated that all works will be completed by 31st March 2026. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

There will be no waiting, stopping or loading permitted throughout the duration of the said works.
