(Temporary 30mph Speed Restrictions On Stotfold Road, Hitchin) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of Stotfold Road, Hitchin from a point in line with the northern boundary of No. 61 Stotfold Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 500m ("the Road"), when signs are in place.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of road ("the Roads"), except for access:
- that length of B197 North Road, Stevenage from its junction with Rectory Lane south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with A602 Lytton Way, a distance of approximately 664m,
An alternative route will be via: B197 (North Road/Graveley Road) and A602 (Hitchin Road/Lytton Way) or via A602 (Lytton Way/High Street/James Way/Lytton Way/Hitchen Road) and B197 (Graveley Road/North Road).
- that length of Weston Way, Baldock from its junction with B656 Letchworth Road south eastwards to its junction with B197 London Road, a distance of approx. 1351m.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of road ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads while works are in progress:
- that length of Waterdell Lane, St Ippolyts from its junction with B656 London Road south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 719m.
An alternative route will be via: B656 London Road, Gosmore Road, Hitchin Road and High Street.
- that length of Peartree Way, Stevenage from its junction with Hydean Way north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Valley Way, a distance of approximately 532m.
An alternative route will be via Hydean Way and Valley Way.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the length of A505 Baldock Bypass, Baldock from its junction with the B197 London Road roundabout north eastwards for a distance of 3996m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via: A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 (Jacks Hill/High Street/Graveley Road), A602, Hitchin road, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 (Broadhall Way/ Hooks Cross/Watton at Stone Bypass/Ware Road/ Tonwell Bypass/Westmill Road) A10 (unnamed road/Wadesmill Bypass/unnamed road/Ermine Street/London Road/ Market Hill/Priory Lane/Melbourn Road) and A505 (Royston Bypass/Baldock Road/Royston Road) or via A505 (Baldock Road/Royston Bypass), A10 (Melbourn Road/Priory Lane/Barkway Street/London Road/Ermine Street/unnamed road), A602 (Westmill Road/Tonwell Bypass/Ware Road/Watton at Stone Bypass/Hooks Cross/Broadhall Way), A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/High Street/Jacks Hill) and A505 Baldock Bypass.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of High Street/Kings Walden Road, Offley/Hoo Lane, Great Offley and C25 (unnamed road), Kings Walden from its junction with Luton Road south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Kingswell End Road, a distance of approximately 2764m ("the length of Roads").
An alternative route will be via: Luton Road, Hollybush Hill, Lilley Bottom and 5U128 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the length of Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Various Roads In Hitchin) Order No.5 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads:-
a) that length of Whitehill Road, Hitchin from a point 10m north west of its junction with Oakfield Avenue south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with A602 Stevenage Road, a distance of approximately 40m.
An alternative route will be via Whitehill Road, Hollow Lane, B656 (Queen Street/Park Street/Hitchin Hill) and A602 Stevenage Road or via A602 Stevenage Road, B656 (Hitchin Hill/Park Street/Queen Street), Hollow Lane, Highbury Road and Whitehill Road.
b) that length of Oakfield Avenue, Hitchin from its junction with Whitehill Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m.
An alternative route will be via Whitehill Road, Broadmead, Ninesprings Way and Oakfield Avenue.
2. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from making a left turn manoeuvre from Highbury Road into Whitehill Road, Hitchin whilst works are in progress.
An alternative route will be via Whitehill Road, Hollow Lane, B656 (Queen
Street/Park Street/Hitchin Hill), A602 Stevenage Road and Whitehill Road.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Various Roads In Hitchin) Order No.4 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("theRoads"), except for access:-
1. that length of Verulam Road, Hitchin from its junction with the A505 Nightingale Road roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the B656 Walsworth Road/Highbury Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 329m.
An alternative route will be via A505 Nightingale Road and B656 Walsworth Road.
2. that length of Convent Close, Hitchin from its junction with Verula south westwards for a distance of approximately 10m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
3. that length of Forge Close, Hitchin from its junction with Verulam Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 10m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
4. that length of Whinbush Road, Hitchin from its junction with Verulam Road north eastwards to its junction with B656 Walsworth Road, a distance of approximately 484m.
An alternative route will be via Verulam Road, A505 Nightingale Road, B656 (Walsworth Road/Queen Street/Park Street/Hitchin Hill), the A602 Stevenage Road roundabout and B656 (Hitchin Hill/Park Street/Queen Street/Walsworth Road).
5. that length of St Annes Road, Hitchin from its junction with Verulam Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 10m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
ADDITIONALLY the existing one way traffic system on Whinbush Road, Hitchin from a point 20 metres north east of its junction with B656 Walsworth Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 36 metres will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to travel in both directions within this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Various Roads In Letchworth Garden City) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:-
1. the southbound carriageway of Broadway, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with the Station Place roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 200m.
An alternative route will be via Station Place, Station Road, Norton Way South, Pixmore Way and Broadway.
2. that length of Eastcheap, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Broadway north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 47m.
An alternative route will be via Broadway and Eastcheap.
ADDITIONALLY the existing one way traffic system on Arena Parade,Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Eastcheap north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Broadway, a distance of approximately 88m will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to travel in both directions within this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
ADDITIONALLY the existing one way traffic system on Broadway, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with the Station Place roundabout south westwards to its junction with Arena Parade, a distance of approximately 177m will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to travel in both directions within this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hillbrow, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Chiltern View south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with West View, a distance of approx. 370m ("the road").
An alternative route will be via: Chiltern View and West View.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road.

(Temporary Closing Of The Footway Situated On The North Side Of Walkern Road, Stevenage) Order 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footway situated on the north side of Walkern Road, Stevenage from a point in line with the western boundary of No. 175 Walkern Road south westwards for a distance of approx. 15m ("the Footway").
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Walkern Road, the footway situated on the West side of Almonds Lane, the footway situated on the south and south east side of Weston Road and the footway situated on the north side of Walkern Road.
That length of Convent Close, Hitchin from its junction with Verulam Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 70m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to the properties in this road will be maintained where possible, but may be restricted for short periods.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footway.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the length of Roads.

1. that length of West Lane, Pirton from its junction with Royal Oak Lane south westwards for a distance of approx. 40m.
An alternative route will be via: Royal Oak Lane, Walnut Tree Lane, Hitchin Road, Priors Hill, Shillington Road and West Lane.
2. that length of Royal Oak Lane, Pirton from its junction with West Lane south eastwards for a distance of approx. 13m.
An alternative route ill be via West Lane, Shillington Road, Priors Hill, Hitchin Road, Walnut Tree Lane and Royal Oak Lane.
The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access:
- that length of Highbury Road, Hitchin from its junction with Wymondley Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 13m.
An alternative route will be via Highbury Road, B656 Walsworth Road, Hollow Lane and Highbury Road.
- that length of Hollow Lane, Hitchin from a point in line with the western boundary of No.51 Hollow Lane north eastwards to its junction with Highbury Road, a distance of approximately 44m.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chells Way, Stevenage from its junction with Mobbsbury Way north westwards to its junction with Frobisher Drive, a distance of approximately 148m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Chells Way, Six Hills Way, A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way) and Chells Way.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 8th December 2025for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
