PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
The above Order, confirmed on 7 October, 2025 under section 257 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 will divert a part length of Footpaths 3 and 4 in the parish of Weeley.
Tendring District Council granted applications 19/00524/OUT approved 14/08/2019 and 22/00979/DETAIL approved 04/10/2023 in respect of for 280 dwellings, a 2 Form of Entry Primary School, 56 place early years nursery, up to 3,000 sqm of office (B1) buildings on 1 hectare and associated ancillary buildings, drainage systems, boundary treatments and hard surfacing, as well public open space, vehicular access from Thorpe Road on Land south of Thorpe Road, Weeley, which necessitates the re-routing of the footpaths.
Footpath 3 Weeley
A part length of Footpath 3 Weeley commencing from point A at grid reference 61509,22219 at a field boundary running in an west, south westerly direction alongside a field boundary for a distance of 53 metres to point C at grid reference 61503,22218 continuing in a south, south easterly direction across the field for a distance of 75 metres to point B at grid reference 61506,22211 where it continues unaffected, to an alternative route 2 metres in width commencing at the aforementioned point A running in south, south easterly direction parallel to the proposed access road for a distance of 88 metres to the aforementioned point B where it continues unaffected.
Footpath 4 Weeley
A part length of Footpath 4 Weeley shown by a bold black continuous line on the Order Map starting from point D at grid reference 61508,22197 within a field running in a generally south easterly direction across the field for a distance of 32 metres to point E at grid reference 61511,22195 where it continues in a generally northerly direction alongside a narrow wooded area for a distance of 30 metres to point F at grid reference 61511,22198 where it continues unaffected, to an alternative route 2 metres in width commencing at the aforementioned point D running in a south easterly then northerly then easterly direction alongside and then across the development access for a distance of 46 metres to the aforementioned point F where it continues unaffected.

This Order comes into force on the date on which Essex County Council on behalf of Tendring District Council intend that the terms of Article 2 of the Order have been complied with but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Act, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from 4 December 2025 on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 8 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
(Briarwood End, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Briarwood End, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Bancroft Close for a distance of approximately 80m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th January 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC4101001WGHRA7MK – Openreach). (Chapel Road, Fingringhoe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Road, Fingringhoe in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 495m south east of its junction with Rowhedge Road for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th January 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN005350-2364 – Rose Builders Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for the works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Rose Builders Ltd.
The alternative route will be via Fingringhoe Road, Old Heath Road, Military Road, Hythe Hill, Hythe Quay, The Quay, Head Street, Abberton Road, Chapel Road and vice versa.
(Greenfinch End, Colchester)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Greenfinch End, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 25m south west of its junction with Bullfinch Close for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC0080GEA18114295B – Openreach). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hakewill Way, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Wallace Road to its junction with Dickenson Road a distance of approximately 390m. (Ingatestone Road, Highwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Ingatestone Road, Highwood in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 140m south east then south west of its junction with Blackmore Road a distance of approximately 60m in a southerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGKKJWSH – Openreach). (Langham Lane, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Langham Lane, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 1230m south west of its junction with Park Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th January 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008P1ST316269360302025 – Openreach). (Mill Road, Boxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Road, Boxted in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 125m north west of its junction with Straight Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th January 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30055214690 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. (Museum Street, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Museum Street, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with High Street for a distance of approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. (Rams Farm Road, Fordham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rams Farm Road, Fordham in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Plummers Road to its junction with Fossetts Lane a distance of approximately 780m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2392425 – Essex County Council). (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Spring Lane North/Bakers Lane, Colchester the City of Colchester, from its junction with Spring Lane Roundabout to the junction with Braiswick a distance of approximately 2030m. The closures are scheduled to commence on 14th January 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2392111 & EP201EH2392128 – Essex County Council). Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Packards Lane, Wormingford in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 215m south east of its junction with Fordham Road for a distance of approximately 170m in a south easterly direction.
