Roads Surrounding Ribble Valley 10km Road Race - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RIBBLE VALLEY 10KM ROAD RACE, CLITHEROE, RIBBLE VALLEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of road in the Borough of Ribble Valley;
i. B6243 Edisford Road, Clitheroe from its junction with Lancaster Drive to its junction with Clifton Road
ii. B6243 Pig Hill, Great Mitton for its full length
iii. B6243 New Lane, Great Mitton for its full length
iv. Clitheroe Lane, Great Mitton for its full length
v. Birdy Brow, Great Mitton from its junction with Clitheroe Lane for a distance of 455 metres in a North Easterly direction.
vi. Mitton Road, Bashall Eaves for its full length
vii. Clitheroe Road, Bashall Eaves from its junction with Mitton Road to its junction with B6243 Edisford Road.
2. The prohibition will be operative between 0900 hours and 1200 hours on 28th December 2025, or until completion of event.
3. There is no signed alternative route. Advance notice of the proposed route and the times of operation of the closure will be posted on site to assist motorists in making alternative arrangements during the period of the closure.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to facilitate the Ribble Valley 10km road race.
Access will be maintained via marshal points for residents and businesses.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.
