What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
THROUGH TRAFFIC
SPRINGFIELD AVENUE, BRIDLINGTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
the entire length of Springfield Avenue, Bridlington
commencing 15 January 2026 until 25 February 2026
for the purpose of installing the HV and LV cables
along with YW Drainage System work.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within 42 days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via: Eastbound - B1423 Quay Road,
Prospect Street, Manor Street, B1254 Bridge Street,
B1254 Hilderthorpe Road, Beck Hill and Westbound -
B1423 Quay Road, B1423 Quay Road Roundabout,
Station Avenue, Station Road, B1254 Hilderthorpe Road,
Bridlington CP, Bridlington South Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but access
will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles
and pedestrians.
