What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
(TEMPORARY AMENDMENT) ORDER 2025

The Lancashire County Council (“the County Council”) in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, (the Act), and of all other enabling powers, HEREBY makes the following Order: -

The Lancashire County Council (BARKER LANE, MELLOR, RIBBLE VALLEY)(Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025, is hereby temporarily Amended in that:

To amend Article 1, 3 and 5 as follows:

1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Saccary Lane from its junction with Mellor Lane travelling in a northerly direction for approximately 60 metres and Higher Ramsgreave Road from its junction with Saccary Lane travelling in a north easterly direction to a point outside The Mullions.

3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on 12 th January 2026 until 1700 hours on 1 st February 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.

5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures is via: -

Saccary Lane via - Mellor Lane – Mellor Brook – Longsight Road

Higher Ramsgreave Road via - Barker Lane – Yew Tree drive – Whalley New Road - Ramsgreave Road – Higher Ramsgreave Road

HGV Diversion Via – Barker Lane - Mellor Lane – Mellor Brow – Myerscough Smithy Road – Sir Fredrick Page Way – Preston New Road – Yew Tree Drive – Barker Lane

This Temporary Amendment Order shall come into operation on 4 th December 2025 and may be cited as “The Lancashire County Council (Barker Lane, Saccary Lane and Higher Ramsgreave Road Mellor, Ribble Valley) (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025 (Temporary Amendment) Order 2025”
