What is happening?

(FOOTPATH 540001 – KIRKBY LONSDALE PARISH)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER
On 12th November 2025 the above named Order was confirmed, as an unopposed Order, by Westmorland and Furness Council.
The effect of the Order, as confirmed, will divert about 65 metres of public footpath 540001 from grid reference 360579, 478094 to grid reference 360627, 478131; to run from grid reference 360627, 478131 southwestwards for about 40 metres to grid reference 360612, 478094 then westwards for about 35 metres to grid reference 360579, 478094. The width of the new path will be 2 metres.

for further information.The Order comes into force immediately, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, within 6 weeks from 6th December 2025 make an application to the High Court.
