(Brook Street, Halstead Urban) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brook Street, Halstead Urban in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 90m south east of the junction with Colne Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC4101001WGHWL10N – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while spine cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Brook Street, Halstead Road, Brook Street, Station, A1124, Fenn Road, Brook Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Butler Road, Halstead Urban) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Butler Road, Halstead Urban in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Broton Drive to its junction with Beridge Road a distance of approximately 100m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th January 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03766978224 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while manhole frame and cover replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Beridge Road, Chapel Hill, A131, Butler Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Catley Cross/Oak Road, Pebmarsh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Catley Cross/Oak Road, Pebmarsh in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 240m north east of the junction of Downmans Chase for a distance of approximately 335m in a north easterly then north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30045712721 & EC30028900249 – UK Power Networks).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead to underground diversion works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Clay Hills, Levitts Corner, Bynes Corner, Pebmarsh Road, A131, The Green, Pebmarsh and vice versa (with access only into Catley Cross, Twinstead Road [includes Colne Road, Oak Road and Bircheys Road]).
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Church Hill & Upper Holt Street & Lower Holt Street, Earls Colne & Colneford Hill, White Colne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Church Hill, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Park Lane to its junction with Coggeshall Road a distance of approximately 200m.
To temporarily close that length of Upper Holt Street, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Coggeshall Road to its junction with Tey Road a distance of approximately 275m.
To temporarily close that length of Lower Holt Street, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Tey Road for a distance of approximately 290m in a south easterly then north easterly direction.
To temporarily close that length of Colneford Hill, White Colne in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 290m south east then north east of its junction with Tey Road for a distance of approximately 285m in a north easterly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 19th January 2026 for 100 days (works to be completed in phases), or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001454119, AZ5011001454678, AZ5011001454679 & AZ5011001454710 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via A1124, A12, A120, A131, A1124 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Churchponds, Castle Hedingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Churchponds, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 40m south east of its junction with Crown Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th January 2026 for 7 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166538152 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacements works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Churchlands, King Street, St James Street, Bayley Street, Pyke Corner, Crown Street, Churchponds and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Road, Ridgewell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Road, Ridgewell in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Rose Walk for a distance of approximately 90m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th January 2026 for 2 nights (20:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03164745529 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via A1017, A1092, A134, A131, A1124, A1017 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Oak Road, Halstead Urban) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Oak Road, Halstead Urban in the District of Braintree from a point approximately 250m north west of its junction with Letches Lane for a distance of approximately 210m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th January 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD030066863686 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while disconnection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via A131, Plaistow Green Road, Letches Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Park Lane, Earls Colne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Park Lane, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Hill/High Street for a distance of approximately 45m in a south westerly direction.
To temporarily close that length of Park Lane, Earls Colne in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Hill for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 5th January 2026 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001454117 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
An alternative route is available via York Road, High Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 12th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(School Road, Little Maplestead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of School Road, Little Maplestead in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 240m south east of its junction with Oak Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166767832/HP – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fire hydrant repair works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Oak Road, Deans Hall Road, Sudbury Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Tilbury Road, Ridgewell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tilbury Road, Ridgewell in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Tilbury Green for a distance of approximately 675m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th January 2026 for 8 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGGC0F6JSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.

(Meadowend, Ridgewell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Meadowend, Ridgewell in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 140m north east of the junction with Ridgewell Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGGDVL2R22SB – Openreach).

(Station Road, Sible Hedingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Sible Hedingham in the District of Braintree from its junction with Christmas Field for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 1 night (20:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03165288245 – Anglian Water).

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Tilbury Road, Tilbury Juxta Clare in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Aletha Farm Place for a distance of approximately 65m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGGDVL2R11SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
