Cotswold District – Multiple Temporary Road Closures for Utility and Infrastructure Works
What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C181 ROAD FROM SPINE ROAD WEST TO COUNTY BOUNDARY (SOMERFORD KEYNES PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C181 Road from Spine Road West to County Boundary for the entire length of the road for a distance of approximately 1,385 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for carriageway investigation works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 8th December 2025 until 13th December 2025 only or until the said works have been completed.

Alternative Route – as signed on site. Pedestrian access and emergency access, will not be maintained due to the excavations taking place in the middle of a narrow lane.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE C155 ROAD FROM OLD PARK HOUSE TO THE CRICKET GROUND (NORTH CERNEY PARISH) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C155 Road from Old Park House to the Cricket Ground from outside ‘The Top Buildings’ to outside The Cricket Ground for a distance of approximately 1,043 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for fibre installation works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 10th December 2025 until 19th December 2025 only or until the said works have been completed.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 401531 NORTHFIELD ROAD (TETBURY TOWN) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401531 Northfield Road from its junction with London Road to outside of the property known as No.53 Northfield Road for a distance of approximately 20 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for foul water connection works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 8th December 2025 to 19th December 2025 or until the works have been completed. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

The said road is expected to be closed from 22nd December 2025 until 23rd December 2025 only or until the said works have been completed.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE A417 LONDON STREET (FAIRFORD TOWN) COTSWOLD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the A417 London Street Road from its junction with ‘The Market Place’ to its junction with ‘The Piles’ for a distance of approximately 225 metres.
The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of Wales & West Utilities.
The said road is expected to be closed from 5th January 2026 to 24th April 2026 or until the works have been completed. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
There will be no waiting and no loading permitted throughout the duration of the said works.

The reason for the said closure is for electrical installation works on behalf of National Grid.
The said road is expected to be closed from 6th January 2026 to 9th January 2026 or until the works have been completed. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

The reason for the said closure is for Footway resurfacing and kerbing works.
The said road is expected to be closed from the 5th January 2026 to 23rd January 2026 or until the works have been completed.

The said road is expected to be closed between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs on 6th January 2026 only. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
