Red Bank Road and Langdale Road, Grasmere - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (RED BANK ROAD AND LANGDALE ROAD, GRASMERE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
(i) Red Bank Road, Grasmere from its junction with Church Stile, extending in a westerly direction for a distance of approx. 105m.
Duration: From 5th January 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROW/16161)
(ii) Langdale Road, Grasmere, from a point adjacent to a property known as Helm House, extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 150m.
Duration: From 12th January 2026 for approx. 2 weeks (Ref: TTROW/16161)
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the B5287, Red Bank Road and Langdale Road.

The Order will come into operation on 5th January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.
However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
