What is happening?

(Chickney Road/Henham Road, Debden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chickney Road/Henham Road, Debden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Sibleys Lane for a distance of approximately 1100m in a north westerly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 19th January 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFKWPD7K11SB & BC008WFKWPD7K12SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling and splicing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Henham Road, Thaxted Road, B184, B1051, Mill Road, Crow Street, High Street, Chickney Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Jacksons Lane, Great Chesterford)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Jacksons Lane, Great Chesterford in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Carmel Street for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC311189D121588 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Jacksons Lane, B184, High Street, Carmel Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Long Lane, Arkesden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Long Lane, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 45m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th January 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20176156858 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while parapet repairs works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Long Lane, Newland End Lane, Wendens Road, Arkesden Road, B1039 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 11th December 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Mill Lane, Saffron Walden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mill Lane, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 85m north west of its junction with Ashdon Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410303974 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fit stop tap and boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close that length of Old Mead Road in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 210m north east of its junction with Old Mead Lane for a distance of approximately 1220m in a north easterly then north westerly direction.
To temporarily close that length of Hall Road, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Old Mead Road for a distance of approximately 170m in a south easterly direction.
To temporarily close that length of Lodge Road, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Old Mead Road to its junction with Dark Lane a distance of approximately 945m.
To temporarily close that length of Dark Lane, Henham in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Lodge Road for a distance of approximately 800m in a north westerly, northerly, north westerly, north easterly, north westerly then south westerly direction.
To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction entering Grove Hill, Stansted from Lower Street as cited in the “Essex County Council (B1051 Grove Hill, Stansted Mountfitchet) (Weight Restriction) Order 1987” for the duration of the closures only.
The closures/restriction are scheduled to commence on 26th January 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFMPWTV5SB, BC008WFMPWTV5O1SB, BC008WFMPWTV502SB & BC008WFMPWTV503SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures/restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while telecom works are undertaken by Openreach.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Uttlesford as detailed in the Schedule.
The works are scheduled to commence after 27th November 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
The Order came into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

The works are scheduled to commence after 27th November 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network.
