Dent Head, Dent - Temporary Road Closure due to Bridge Examination Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5101 DENT HEAD) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge examination works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C5101 Dent Head, from a point adjacent to Dent Head Viaduct, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 140 metres.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the B6255 Hawes, A684, U5509 Coal Road and the unrestricted sections of the C5101.

The Order will come into operation on 5th January 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day only and as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
