What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U2022 Carlisle Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Carlisle Road – from the junction with U2023 Denton Road to the junction with the U2021 Upper Carlisle Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2022 Carlisle Road – C432 Beachy Head Road – U2023 Denton Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 19 December 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 19 December 2025 and 31 January 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U2144 Pevensey Road, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Pevensey Road – from the junction with U2146 Cavendish Place to the junction with A259 Susans Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U2146 Cavendish Place, Ashford Road – A259 Susans Road.
The Order commenced 13 February 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 10 and 12 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (B2106 Grand Parade, Eastbourne)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Grand Parade – from the junction with U2138 Trinity Place to the junction with U2145 Elms Avenue.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with alternative routes for through traffic via (1) B2106 Grand Parade, Devonshire Place – A259 South Street, Gildredge Road, Ashford Road, Susans Road, Seaside – B2106 Beach Road, Sidley Road, Royal Parade, Marine Parade, Grand Parade, or (2) B2106 Grand Parade – B2103 Grand Parade, King Edwards Parade, Dukes Drive, Upper Dukes Drive, Warren Hill – A259 East Dean Road, Church Street, High Street, The Goffs, Upperton Road – A2040 The Avenue, Upper Avenue – A2021 Bedfordwell Road, Whitley Road – A259 Seaside – B2106 Beach Road, Sidley Road, Royal Parade, Marine Parade, Grand Parade and vice versa.
The Order commenced 2 January 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 8 and 19 December 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.
