Wellowgate Level Crossing - Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic To Works
What is happening?
THE NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)(a)
WELLOWGATE LEVEL CROSSING - GRIMSBY (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC - TTRO 25-163) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the North East Lincolnshire Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, an Order, the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle, pedestrian or pedal cycle from PROCEEDING along the below sections of highway:
• A section of WELLOWGATE - Part length from a point 20 metres south east of WELLOWGATE LEVEL CROSSING to a point 20 metres north west of WELLOWGATE LEVEL CROSSING
Alternative route: Church Lane, A1136, Grosvenor Street, Brighowgate, Wellowgate (reverse route applies)
This temporary prohibition is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road by Chevron.
These works are detailed as renewed cattle guard.
The Order will come into operation on Saturday, 10 January 2026, and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months unless extended for a further period by the Secretary of State for Transport, or until completion of the works (whichever is the earlier). The closure is expected to remain in place until 04:00hrs on Sunday, 11 January 2026. Definitive dates and times will be notified with on-site advanced warning signs.
