NOTICE OF TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC – ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –  Various Locations Within Crewe/Nantwich

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic.

This order will come into operation on Monday 5th January 2026 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 4 July 2028.

Albion Street, Crewe for the full extent.
Clyde Grove, Crewe for the full extent.
Langley Drive, Crewe for the full extent.
Valley Road, Crewe for the full extent.

This order will come into operation on Monday 15th December 2025 and will continue in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 26th December 2025.

Public Rights of Way Notices

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS – Public Footpath No.1 (Part) Parish of Basford

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No.1 (part) in the Parish of Basford which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 7212 5317 and runs in a generally southerly direction for approx. 43m to OSGR SJ 7213 5312.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger while scheduled works are carried out.

The Order came into force on 1st December 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpath No. 6 (part) Parish of Coole Pilate and Public Footpath No. 9 Hankelow

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by sub-section 15 (5) of the aforementioned Section 15 has approved the Order being extended and continuing in force until 26th December 2026.

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That Public Footpath No.6 (Part) Coole Pilate, which commences at OS grid reference SJ 6595 4598 and runs in a generally north then east direction to the start of Hankelow FP9 at OS grid reference SJ 6619 4627.

That Public Footpath No.9 Hankelow, which commences at OS grid reference SJ 6619 4627 and runs in a generally east direction to meet the junction of Hankelow No 9 and Coole Pilate No 1 at OS grid reference SJ 6635 4627.

The closure is necessary to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public due to an unsafe bridge crossing.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS
Public Footpath No. 1 Parish of Bulkeley and Ridley
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians on the following:

That length of Public Footpath No.1 in the Parish of Bulkeley and Ridley which commences at OS grid reference (OSGR) SJ 5261 5586 and extends in a generally southerly direction for a distance of approx. 915m to OSGR SJ 5297 5505.

The closure is necessary to protect the public from danger because works are proposed on or near the Public Footpath.

The Order will come into force on 6th January 2026 and will continue in force for a period of six months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
