What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

(MEPPERSHALL ROAD, UPPER STONDON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except

a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Meppershall Road, Upper Stondon at the junction with The Pastures.

This temporary closure is required to enable S278 Planing, Resurfacing and Lining work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing. It is expected that the works will take place on 20 December 2025 between the hours of 8am and 5pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Meppershall Rd, Stondon Rd, Chapel Rd, A600, Station Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 20 December 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(MYERS ROAD, POTTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Myers Road, Potton outside Hillside.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 17 December 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Everton Road, Myers Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 15 December 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(CLIFTON ROAD, SHEFFORD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Clifton Road, Shefford between no 38 and roundabout with The Woolpack.

This temporary closure is required to enable iron work and Post replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 8 December 2025 between the hours of 0900-1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period. The alternative route for this closure is via Shefford Rd, New Rd, Hitchin Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 8 January 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTION 119 NO. 24) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: PART OF FOOTPATH

NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION

Notice is hereby given that the works required to divert part of Footpath No. 24, Biggleswade have been completed in accordance with the requirements of Article 2 of the above Order, which was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council on 31 October 2025. The section of Footpath No. 24, Biggleswade described in Article 1 of the above Order is consequently extinguished as from 30 November 2025.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(STONDON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 48)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of Footpath No. 48, Stondon which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1589 3461 to OS GR TL 1605 3442 to OS GR TL 1607 3436.

This temporary closure is required as the bridge deck is unsafe and the bridge needs replacing. The closure is expected to take place from 11 December 2025 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation. Further details, including a map, can also be found on the Council’s website at: https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/82/countryside/431/rights_of_way/2 The Order will come into operation on 11 December 2025 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
